Our client is seeking an experienced Business Continuity Management and Operational Resilience specialist to lead and strengthen its enterprise-wide BCM capability. The consultant will be responsible for developing, implementing and continuously improving the Business Continuity Management System, ensuring the organisation can identify critical services, understand disruption risks and maintain effective recovery strategies.

This is a senior, hands-on role requiring strong experience across BCM, Business Impact Analysis, operational resilience, disaster recovery and crisis preparedness. The consultant will work closely with business leadership, Enterprise Risk Management, Technology, Information Security and third-party providers to embed effective continuity and resilience practices across the organisation.

Key Activities

• Develop and maintain the enterprise Business Continuity Management framework, policies and methodologies.
• Establish BCM governance structures and develop a maturity improvement roadmap.
• Lead and coordinate Business Impact Analyses across business units.
• Identify critical business services, processes and dependencies.
• Define and validate MTPD, RTO, RPO and MBCO requirements.
• Facilitate the development and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans.
• Develop appropriate continuity and recovery strategies.
• Conduct BCM threat and resilience risk assessments.
• Assess risks relating to cyber incidents, technology failures, third parties, facilities, utilities and workforce availability.
• Map critical technology, people, supplier and operational dependencies.
• Align business continuity requirements with IT Disaster Recovery capabilities.
• Identify gaps between business recovery requirements and technology capabilities.
• Develop and coordinate BCM testing, simulations and tabletop exercises.
• Track remediation activities and lessons learned following exercises.
• Develop BCM KPIs and KRIs and provide reporting to management and governance forums.
• Support internal and external BCM assurance activities.

Your Background

Essential

• Minimum 8 years' experience across Business Continuity Management, Operational Resilience, Risk Management, Disaster Recovery or Crisis Management.
• At least 3 years' experience managing or coordinating BCM programmes.
• Strong Business Impact Analysis experience.
• Experience developing and implementing Business Continuity Plans.
• Experience defining and working with RTO, RPO, MTPD and MBCO.
• Experience designing and facilitating BCM testing and exercises.
• Strong understanding of operational resilience and dependency management.
• Experience working closely with ICT and Disaster Recovery teams.
• Experience engaging executive and senior management stakeholders.
• Relevant Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma.
