PEP South Africa requires the services of a Project Manager to support a rapidly expanding portfolio of initiatives.
The role sits within the Merchandising department and focuses on delivering multiple concurrent technology and commercial projects across product, category, and supply chain functions.
The successful consultant will take ownership of end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timelines, risks, and stakeholder alignment are effectively managed across a complex, fast-paced retail environment.
Key Activities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent merchandising and business projects
- Translate merchandising and operational requirements into clear project scope, plans, and deliverables
- Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies across cross-functional teams
- Coordinate internal stakeholders across buying, planning, supply chain, and store operations
- Facilitate project governance including status reporting, steerco meetings, and RAID management
- Drive project execution across Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments
- Ensure solution readiness including testing, cutover planning, and operational handover
- Proactively identify and escalate risks, blockers, and resource constraints
- Maintain strong stakeholder engagement across business, IT, and external partners
- Support PMO processes and contribute to improving project governance and delivery standards
Your Background
Essential:
- 5–10 years of experience in project management or business analysis
- Proven experience delivering retail, merchandising, or supply chain projects in complex environments
- Strong experience managing multiple concurrent projects with tight timelines
- Demonstrated stakeholder management across business, technology, and operations
- Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments
- Strong working knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Monday.com, or similar
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive delivery outcomes
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage risk and escalate effectively
Desirable:
- Experience within retail, merchandising, or supply chain environments
- Experience working within a PMO or portfolio delivery environment
- Familiarity with evolving governance structures and scaling delivery functions
- Consulting background or experience working in fast-paced, client-facing environments
