We are supporting a consulting-led engagement for a client operating within the public sector and broader institutional ecosystem in West Africa. The project requires an experienced Lead Consultant who can drive strategic workstreams, manage senior stakeholder engagement, and provide structured recommendations within a fast-paced consulting environment.

The ideal consultant will bring strong strategy and transformation experience, preferably gained within leading global consulting firms such as BCG, McKinsey, Bain, or equivalent advisory organisations. Experience working with public sector entities, government-linked institutions, or regulatory stakeholders will be highly advantageous. Regional exposure across Africa, particularly West Africa and Cote d'Ivoire, is strongly preferred due to the stakeholder and operating environment.

This is a client-facing leadership role requiring strong communication, executive presentation, and problem-solving capabilities. The consultant must be comfortable operating independently, managing ambiguity, and travelling periodically to Cote d'Ivoire during the engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage consulting workstreams from initiation through delivery
• Conduct strategic assessments, operational reviews, and business analysis
• Develop data-driven insights and executive-level recommendations
• Support transformation planning, operating model reviews, and strategic initiatives
• Deliver structured presentations, reports, and stakeholder materials
• Translate complex business challenges into practical and actionable solutions
• Engage with senior leadership, public sector representatives, and key stakeholders
• Facilitate workshops, steering committee discussions, and strategic meetings
• Build strong working relationships across multicultural and cross-functional teams
• Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain alignment throughout the engagement
• Drive project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
• Coordinate activities across consulting and client teams
• Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies
• Ensure delivery quality and alignment with project objectives
• Support regional engagement activities across West Africa
• Travel to Cote d'Ivoire approximately once every six weeks as required
• Operate effectively within international and multicultural environments

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of professional consulting or advisory experience
• Strong background in strategy consulting, transformation, or operational advisory
• Prior experience with top-tier consulting firms preferred (e.g. BCG, McKinsey, Bain, Strategy and, Kearney, Oliver Wyman, Roland Berger, etc.)
• Experience working with public sector entities, government institutions, or regulatory bodies is advantageous
• Experience across Africa or West Africa is highly beneficial
• Demonstrated experience leading client-facing engagements and stakeholder interactions

Language Requirements

• Must be fluent in both French and English
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages required
