Our client, KPMG, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst – AI and Automation to support the identification, prioritisation, and delivery of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and automation initiatives across the organisation.
The successful consultant will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and AI delivery teams, ensuring business challenges are translated into clear requirements, measurable outcomes, and scalable AI-enabled solutions.
This role combines traditional business analysis expertise with practical AI literacy and product thinking.
The consultant will play a key role in discovering AI opportunities, developing business cases, defining requirements, supporting solution delivery, and driving adoption and value realisation. The role is focused on business outcomes rather than technical AI development and is therefore well suited to candidates who understand AI technologies sufficiently to identify opportunities and support successful implementation.
The ideal consultant will bring strong business analysis and digital transformation experience, together with exposure to AI, automation, analytics, or emerging technologies within financial services, telecommunications, fintech, or similarly complex environments.
Key Activities
- Conduct AI opportunity discovery workshops with business stakeholders.
- Identify and prioritise AI, automation, and digital transformation opportunities.
- Analyse business processes and identify optimisation opportunities.
- Develop business cases and value assessments for AI initiatives.
- Gather, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Produce business analysis artefacts including BRDs, BRSs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, use cases, and customer journeys.
- Translate business needs into actionable requirements for AI and delivery teams.
- Support Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing and support defect resolution.
- Support deployment, hypercare, change management, and adoption activities.
- Develop a practical understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models, AI agents, Microsoft Copilot, prompt engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.
- Define business KPIs and track benefits realisation for AI initiatives.
- Support AI governance, risk assessments, and responsible AI practices.
- Promote safe and compliant adoption of AI technologies across the organisation.
Your Background
Essential
- Minimum 5 years of business analysis experience.
- Strong experience delivering digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation capabilities.
- Experience developing:
- Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
- Business Requirement Specifications (BRSs)
- User stories
- Acceptance criteria
- Process maps
- Use cases
- Test scenarios
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation capabilities.
- Strong understanding of business process analysis and requirements engineering.
Desirable
- Experience within AI, automation, analytics, digital platforms, fintech, telecommunications, banking, or financial services environments.
- Exposure to Generative AI, AI agents, Microsoft Copilot, or Azure AI services.
- Understanding of Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, prompt engineering, and enterprise AI concepts.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Miro, Visio, or Power BI.
- Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile BA, AI-900, or AZ-900.
- Exposure to Responsible AI, data governance, design thinking, or product ownership.
- Experience supporting AI adoption and change initiatives.
