Project Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join a fast-growing technology consulting firm that combines the engineering excellence and data-driven culture of Google with the autonomy and decision-making velocity of a high-performing startup. You will own the complete product strategy—the "Why" and "What"—for our customers, working with a small, founder-led team where your influence directly shapes the company's direction.

This is a rare opportunity to build products that matter within the tech consulting space, partnering closely with founders who value radical transparency, rapid iteration, and user-centric decision-making. You'll have direct access to customers, the authority to define the roadmap, and the responsibility to ensure every feature delivers measurable business impact. Success is measured by your ability to translate market insights into elegant requirements, drive feature adoption through data-backed pivots, and align our product strategy with client business objectives.

Key Activities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and own the product vision, North Star metrics, and roadmap. Make autonomous decisions about feature prioritisation and product direction without requiring multiple approval layers.
  • User Research & Discovery: Conduct direct customer interviews and market research to uncover unmet needs and validate assumptions. You are not insulated from the market—you gather raw, unfiltered feedback yourself.
  • Requirements & Feature Design: Translate complex user pain points and business objectives into clear, actionable requirements. Define acceptance criteria and ensure features are elegant and purposeful rather than over-engineered.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Track post-launch feature performance using hard metrics and analytics. Lead data-backed pivots when features underperform and use evidence to defend or challenge stakeholder requests.
  • Stakeholder & Client Strategy: Act as a strategic bridge during client engagements and on-site workshops. Ensure product development aligns with client business objectives and communicate product value to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering team and founders to keep development velocity high whilst maintaining product quality. Maintain psychological safety and collaborative decision-making within an agile environment.

Your Background

Essential:

  • 5+ years of hands-on product management experience, from ideation through launch and post-launch optimisation, with demonstrated ability to own product decisions end-to-end.
  • Strong data literacy and a decision-making framework rooted in metrics rather than opinion or stakeholder pressure.
  • Experience working in or building products for the technology consulting, professional services, or B2B SaaS space, with informed views on how the market is evolving.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to wear multiple hats in a startup or small company environment where roles overlap and ownership is broad.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise ruthlessly, say "no" to misaligned features, and maintain product coherence under competing demands.

Desirable:

  • Background in technology consulting or professional services delivery, giving you intuitive understanding of the sector's challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience in a founder-led or early-stage startup environment where you've influenced company strategy alongside leadership.
  • Familiarity with Google's product development philosophy, operating model, or engineering culture.
  • Track record of building and scaling products within the tech services or consulting space.
