Project Overview

Our client, a global consulting firm is working on a live operational transformation engagement with a leading e-commerce and marketplace player. The team is currently working with the client on a programme focused on reducing leakages arising from seller claims related to lost, damaged, or incorrect products in returned shipments.

As an Operations Associate, you will support the execution of initiatives designed to improve claims management and reduce leakage across the e-commerce operations ecosystem. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, pilot, implement, and scale operational improvement initiatives, with a direct focus on driving measurable savings and value realisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and support pilots for assigned workstreams, including defining success metrics, control groups, and implementation plans based on data insights.
  • Drive end-to-end implementation of operational improvement initiatives, from initial design and pilot stages through to scale-up.
  • Work closely with teams across Seller, Technology, Logistics, and other relevant functions to drive alignment and execution.
  • Support initiatives across areas such as seller and customer claims, logistics, risk and fraud, and AI-driven risk segmentation.
  • Track implementation progress and key performance indicators, contributing to savings and value-realisation reporting.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and implementation blockers and support their resolution through the programme governance structure.

Your Background

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in e-commerce or marketplace operations.
  • Experience in areas such as logistics, seller claims, returns, loss prevention, or leakage management would be highly relevant.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing operational improvement initiatives, rather than only supporting strategy or design work.
  • Comfortable working with operational and claims data, with the ability to analyse, interpret, and present insights to track progress.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multiple business and functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or another relevant quantitative discipline. An MBA or Master’s degree would be advantageous but is not essential.

Other Info

  • This is a 6-month, full-time engagement, with the potential for extension based on performance.
  • The consultant will be based onsite in Bangalore at the client’s headquarters, with occasional visits to warehouses in and around the city.
  • Consultants currently based outside Bangalore may also be considered, with accommodation and travel support available for relocation.
