Project Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Optimization Consultant to drive immediate cost-saving initiatives across clinic procurement operations. This role will focus on analysing procurement spend, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and executing supplier optimization strategies to deliver measurable financial impact.

The ideal candidate will combine strong procurement and sourcing expertise with advanced analytical capabilities and a hands-on execution mindset. Experience within healthcare procurement or related industries will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse historical procurement spend and purchasing data across categories such as medical supplies, consumables, equipment, and services to identify savings opportunities.
  • Clean, structure, and evaluate procurement datasets to uncover pricing inconsistencies, inefficiencies, and cost drivers.
  • Identify, quantify, and prioritize cost-saving levers, including supplier consolidation, price benchmarking, and SKU rationalisation.
  • Develop data-driven negotiation strategies and support supplier discussions to achieve improved commercial outcomes.
  • Identify and assess alternative suppliers to support cost reduction and supply continuity objectives.
  • Drive rapid implementation of quick-win initiatives, such as but not limited to contract renegotiations, supplier optimization, vendor switching, and volume-based discounts.
  • Track realized and pipeline savings, providing clear reporting on financial impact and value delivered.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, finance, and operational stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of recommendations.
  • Support the development of sustainable procurement practices and cost management initiatives.

Ideal Background

  • Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, spend analytics, or cost optimization roles.
  • Strong track record of delivering measurable cost savings through supplier negotiations and procurement transformation initiatives.
  • Experience analysing large procurement datasets and quickly translating insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance both strategic analysis and management of key stakeholders.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, including procurement, finance, and operations teams.
