Project Overview

Our client, a global consulting firm, is supporting a leading Indian bank to strengthen its accounting, reconciliation, and reporting processes for credit guarantee schemes, including CGTMSE, interest subvention, and scheme subsidies.

The consultant will help standardise accounting processes, improve claims management and reconciliation, and develop management information systems (MIS) to track outstanding claims, receipts, and potential revenue leakages. The engagement will support greater accuracy, transparency, and operational efficiency in the bank’s scheme-related financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Standardise accounting and reconciliation processes for CGTMSE premiums, claims, interest subvention, and scheme subsidies.
  • Define automation requirements for claim lodgement, tracking, and reconciliation with relevant scheme portals.
  • Develop MIS dashboards and reports to monitor pending claims, receipts, and potential leakages across schemes.
  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies in existing accounting, reconciliation, and claims management processes.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen financial controls, reporting accuracy, and scheme-level tracking.

Your Background

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in banking, finance, accounting, or scheme-related financial operations.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or a relevant degree in finance.
  • Strong expertise in CGTMSE, credit guarantee schemes, interest subvention, and scheme subsidy accounting.
  • Experience in accounting standardisation, financial reconciliation, claims processing, and MIS development.
  • Preference for former Deputy General Managers (DGMs) or General Managers (GMs) from Public Sector Banks (PSBs), particularly in credit or priority sector departments, or CA firm partners with experience in scheme audits.
