Our client, a global consulting firm is partnering with a leading Indian Bank to support a critical core banking transformation initiative focused on enhancing its core banking and digital onboarding capabilities. The bank is undertaking a 12-month project (with potential extensions of 6+6 months) to modernise its middleware and API infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration between its customer onboarding frontend, Core Banking System (CBS), and loan origination systems. The initiative also includes compliance-driven integrations with government portals such as PFMS, CKYC, and NSDL.

As a Senior Integration Architect or Technical Lead, the consultant will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and deploying robust API solutions that bridge legacy systems with modern digital workflows. The consultant will provide senior technical leadership and drive integration delivery, helping the bank improve the security, scalability and efficiency of its digital onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the bank’s IT and business teams to design, develop, and deploy APIs that connect the onboarding frontend, CBS (Finacle), and loan origination systems.
• Integrate critical government portals (PFMS, CKYC, NSDL) into the bank’s digital ecosystem, ensuring compliance and real-time data exchange.
• Own API documentation, security reviews, and UAT in partnership with the bank’s IT team to ensure seamless deployment and adherence to industry standards.
• Lead troubleshooting and optimization of middleware and API performance to support scalability and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership and oversee integration delivery, working closely with the bank’s IT team and relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment with the bank’s prescribed security, compliance, and documentation standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Your Background

• Experience: 8+ years in middleware, API development, and system integration, with a focus on core banking systems (Finacle).
• Sector Background: Prior experience in banking, financial services, or core banking vendors (e.g., IT services firms, large banks, or Finacle implementation teams).
• Technical Expertise:
• Proficiency in API design, development, and lifecycle management (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
• Hands-on experience with CBS integrations (Finacle or equivalent).
• Exposure to integrations with government portals such as PFMS, CKYC and NSDL is desirable; experience with all three is not mandatory.
• Familiarity with government portal integrations (PFMS, CKYC, NSDL) and compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of security best practices for APIs and middleware.
• Education: B.E., B.Tech, MCA, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Soft Skills: Excellent collaboration and communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and IT leadership.

Other Info

The project location is in Mumbai, India, with a full-time, on-site requirement for the duration of the contract. The initial engagement is for 6 months (extendable), with the potential for extension by 6+6 months based on performance and project needs.

The selected consultant will need to complete the bank’s background verification process and submit their CV in the prescribed format. They may also be invited to present their profile to the bank as part of the selection process.
