Our client, an insurer operating across Australia and New Zealand, is engaging a senior consultant to design and roll out a capability framework for its Growth function, covering three key pillars: acquisition, deepening customer relationships, and pricing & underwriting.
The framework will take a best-in-class, outside-in view of what strong capability looks like in each area, defining clear maturity levels that business divisions can use to self-assess. Results will be consolidated into a centralised view and prioritised against the client's 2030 growth ambition, helping determine where investment and focus should go next. The consultant will also need to define an ongoing process for keeping the framework current, given how quickly best practice in this space evolves.
This is approximately a six-week engagement, working solo and hands-on to produce the final framework and supporting artefacts, with an immediate start. The consultant will be based in Sydney (also open to Auckland), given the need for face-to-face time with stakeholders across both locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design a capability framework across the three growth pillars: acquisition, retention/deepening relationships, and pricing & underwriting
- Define maturity levels for each capability area, pitched pragmatically and at a high level rather than overly prescriptive
- Bring an outside-in, best-in-class benchmark perspective, drawing on external practice among growth-focused insurers rather than internal views alone
- Facilitate self-assessment against the framework across the client's business divisions
- Consolidate self-assessment results into a centralised view, prioritised against the client's 2030 strategy to inform investment and funding decisions
- Define an ongoing cadence to keep the framework current as best-in-class benchmarks evolve
- Produce a polished, board-ready framework and supporting artefacts independently, without a supporting team
- Engage with stakeholders across business divisions and geographies to socialise and align the framework
