A leading global consulting firm is supporting an engagement with a chemical client and is looking for a hands-on Process Technologist / R&D Scientist to strengthen the technical expertise available to the project team.

The consultant will play a key role in bridging technical gaps at the client site, bringing deep practical expertise in chemical process development, scale-up and technology transfer. The role will involve working closely with the consulting team and client stakeholders to address complex technical questions and translate technical insights into actionable solutions on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical expertise to address complex process and chemistry-related questions raised by the client.
• Support the assessment and scale-up of multi-step pharma / agrochemical intermediates across relevant chemical processes.
• Apply practical experience across chemistries such as Grignard, bromination, oxidation/reduction, cyclization and hydrogenation.
• Support activities spanning lab ? pilot ? commercial scale-up, including technology transfer.
• Work closely with project leaders and client teams to identify technical issues and develop practical, actionable solutions.
• Provide technical direction during on-ground implementation and help bridge gaps between technical analysis and execution.

Your Background

• Strong hands-on experience as a Process Technologist, Process Development Scientist, R&D Scientist or similar technical professional.
• Demonstrated experience in chemical process development, scale-up and technology transfer, ideally across pharma, agrochemical or related chemical intermediates.
• Practical expertise in one or more of Grignard, bromination, oxidation/reduction, cyclization and hydrogenation.
• Experience working across laboratory, pilot and commercial-scale environments.
• Two potential profiles will be considered:
• Senior professionals with ~10–15+ years of experience, ideally with strong technical credentials and an MBA from a reputed institution.
• Deep technical industry experts, including late-career or retired professionals, with extensive hands-on chemical/process expertise.
• Prior experience with Aarti Industries, Anupam Rasayan, Bharat Rasayan, Hikal, Syngene, Neuland, Neogen Chemicals or PI Industries is strongly preferred, though not mandatory.
• Strong technical problem-solving ability and the confidence to independently address challenging technical questions in a client environment.

Location: Bharuch, Gujarat

Working model: Full-time, 2-3 days onsite in Bharuch per week; remaining days can be worked remotely from any city in India. Travel expenses are covered by client.

Duration: 12 months, with potential for extension
