Project Overview

Our client, a global consulting firm is partnering with a leading organization in the Pharma & Life Sciences sector to establish a new Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad and requires an experienced Transition Manager to oversee the end-to-end movement of people and processes into this new setup. This is a high-stakes, execution-focused initiative aimed at building a scalable operational hub that supports the client’s long-term strategic goals. The project is currently live, and the successful candidate will step into a critical delivery role from day one.

We are seeking a senior independent consultant to own the entire transition lifecycle—from planning and knowledge transfer to hypercare and final handover to BAU. In this capacity, you will act as the central orchestrator, bridging onshore and offshore teams, de-risking the migration of key processes, and ensuring that the new GCC is operational, compliant, and performing to standard within a compressed 6-month timeframe. Your work will directly determine the success of this greenfield setup, minimizing business disruption while establishing robust governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the comprehensive transition plan and charter, defining clear scope, milestones, and interdependencies for the movement of people and processes.
  • Execute structured Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions and drive SOP governance to ensure all documentation, compliance standards, and process maps are validated and signed off by relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs rigorously, providing transparent reporting to senior leadership and proactively mitigating transition-related risks.
  • Orchestrate a phased go-live strategy, ensuring seamless cutover activities, and lead the hypercare phase to stabilize operations before executing a formal BAU handover.
  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders across global and local teams to align on scope, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure resource readiness for the new center.
  • Establish governance cadences and reporting mechanisms to track transition progress against KPIs, ensuring full visibility and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

Your Background

  • 10–15 years of total experience, with a strong track record (8–10 years) in leading complex GCC/Business Process transitions, preferably within Pharma, Life Sciences, or adjacent sectors like FMCG, Healthcare, or BFSI.
  • Demonstrated expertise in KT planning, SOP governance, risk management (RAID), phased go-live execution, and hypercare management.
  • MBA preferred; an Engineering plus MBA combination is highly valued, indicating strong analytical and strategic capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships and drive alignment across geographically dispersed teams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Other Info

  • This is a full-time, contract based in Hyderabad with an immediate start. The assignment runs for an initial 6 months.
