Project Overview

Our client, a leading global payments technology company, partnering with banks and financial institutions to drive portfolio growth and customer engagement through data-driven strategies and best-in-class payments solutions.


As part of the client's Portfolio Consulting team, the consultant will support strategic initiatives focused on optimising credit and debit card portfolios. You will help design and execute customer lifecycle and campaign strategies that improve acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and spend while working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute portfolio strategies to improve key business metrics such as acquisition, activation, customer engagement, spend, retention, and ROI across credit and debit card portfolios.
  • Design and optimise customer lifecycle journeys, including onboarding, activation, habituation, retention, and win-back programs, supported by structured A/B testing and measurement frameworks.
  • Create campaign strategies covering offer design, customer segmentation, targeting logic, eligibility criteria, and performance measurement.
  • Analyse portfolio performance, identify growth opportunities, forecast campaign impact, and develop data-driven recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with product, marketing, compliance, risk, and payments teams to deliver cross-functional portfolio initiatives.
  • Prepare executive-ready presentations and documentation to communicate insights, recommendations, and project outcomes.


Your Background

  • 6–8 years of experience in cards, payments, banking, or consulting with hands-on ownership of credit/debit card portfolio strategy, customer lifecycle management, and campaign management.
  • Strong understanding of cards portfolio optimisation, customer segmentation, offer optimisation, rewards strategy, merchant-funded offers, and partnerships.
  • Practical knowledge of card network operating rules, regulatory guidelines, compliance requirements, data privacy, and fair marketing practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in portfolio analytics, forecasting, CLV, propensity modelling, uplift analysis, and test-and-learn methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex insights to senior business leaders.
  • Bachelor's degree required; relevant postgraduate qualifications are preferred.


Other Info

This is a 12-month contractual opportunity based onsite at the client's office in Bangalore, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.
