Our client, a global consulting firm, is currently supporting a major construction firm in Liberia on a large-scale capital project in the industrial sector. The engagement focuses on enhancing project delivery excellence for a significant plant construction initiative.
As a consultant, you will play a critical role in the Project Management Office (PMO), driving effective execution of this large capital project. Your contributions will ensure seamless coordination, robust governance, and successful transition to operations, delivering measurable improvements in project timelines, reliability, and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct planning and scheduling workshops with key project stakeholders
- Drive cross-functional coordination across project teams, Project Management Consultants (PMC), EPC contractors, and design teams
- Ensure timely execution through hands-on, day-to-day coordination with contractors and on-site stakeholders
- Set up and run governance mechanisms, including project reviews, metric tracking, and comprehensive reporting
- Support maintenance readiness, operational handover planning, and initiatives to strengthen plant reliability and sustainability
- Collaborate closely with the BCG Program Manager and on-site BCG Consultants as an integral part of the delivery team
Your Background
- 4–5+ years of experience in consulting, preferably with industrial goods or heavy engineering clients at a top-tier consulting firm
- Direct experience working with Engineering & Construction firms or Project Management Consultants
- Exposure to plant construction projects in Metals & Mining is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning, plant reliability, shutdown planning, and operational readiness
- Educational background from a top-tier engineering or business school
The project is based in Liberia with an immediate start (candidates available immediately or with up to 1-month notice preferred). The assignment follows a 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, with round-trip tickets provided between India and Liberia. All accommodation, logistics, and on-site support will be fully managed. Initial contract duration is 6-9 months. Potential for extension exists based on project needs and performance.
