Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Valuation Actuary to join their actuarial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the valuation of insurance liabilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and financial reporting frameworks, and providing actuarial insights to support business decision-making.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Fellow member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA).
- Minimum of 8+ years’ actuarial experience.
- Strong focus on valuation work, with proven experience in insurance liability valuation and financial reporting.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with one or more of the following tools is highly desirable:
- VBA
- SQL
- Prophet (or similar actuarial modelling software)
Regulatory & Reporting Knowledge
- Solid understanding of:
- IFRS 4
- IFRS 17
- SAM (Solvency Assessment and Management)
- Experience in applying these frameworks in actuarial valuation and reporting contexts is preferred.
