Our client, a global consulting firm is partnering with a major public sector power transmission company to drive performance improvements and operational excellence. This engagement focuses on enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the transmission network through targeted strategic and technical interventions.

The selected senior expert will play a pivotal role in supporting the client on high-impact initiatives. Their contributions will directly influence loss reduction, optimized network planning, effective project delivery, and minimized curtailment, delivering measurable improvements in system performance, cost efficiency, and grid reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on strategies and implementation approaches for reduction of transmission losses.
• Support network planning processes and prioritization of transmission projects based on technical, economic, and operational criteria.
• Provide oversight and guidance on monitoring/PMO of key transmission projects, ensuring timely delivery and risk mitigation.
• Recommend measures for reduction of curtailment through network reconfiguration and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with client leadership and internal teams in Projects and Network Planning divisions to develop practical, actionable recommendations.
• Leverage deep public sector TransCo experience to contextualize solutions and facilitate effective adoption.

Your Background

• 15–20+ years of relevant experience, ideally with or within large public-sector power transmission utilities
• Hands-on expertise in one or more of: transmission loss reduction, network planning & project prioritization, project PMO/monitoring, or curtailment reduction & network reconfiguration.
• Prior experience in State Transmission Companies (MH/Maharashtra or GJ/Gujarat strongly preferred); former or current senior executives, functional heads, Chief Engineers, Project Directors, Planning/Operations Heads, or PMO leads are ideal.
• Strong technical depth in power transmission systems combined with practical implementation knowledge in the Indian public sector context.
• Proven ability to advise at senior levels and deliver impactful recommendations in regulated utility environments.

The project is based in Jaipur with an expected duration of 6 months following a current 1-2 month proposal phase. The engagement is structured on a part-time basis to attract the highest-caliber experts while allowing flexibility.
