An Australian financial services organisation is seeking an experienced acquisition marketing leader to design and execute digital and above-the-line marketing strategies focused on new customer growth within its payments business. This engagement will align closely with product leaders to define acquisition goals, optimise performance, and deliver measurable commercial outcomes. The consultant will lead integrated campaigns, manage agency partners, and ensure disciplined budget allocation and ROI tracking.


Key Activities:


  • Develop and execute digital media and above-the-line acquisition strategies aligned to product and commercial targets
  • Align acquisition plans with product leaders to ensure shared goals, metrics, and performance outcomes
  • Lead integrated acquisition campaign planning and delivery across multiple channels
  • Drive performance marketing optimisation through regular campaign analysis and test-and-learn initiatives
  • Partner with data and analytics teams to ensure targeting, segmentation, and insight-led execution
  • Support the promotion of partner offers in coordination with product and distribution stakeholders
  • Maintain brand consistency while optimising creative and media performance across acquisition channels
  • Manage external media and creative agencies, ensuring alignment to KPIs and commercial objectives
  • Negotiate and oversee agency contracts, service levels, and performance outcomes
  • Plan, allocate, and monitor acquisition budgets to ensure return on investment and spend efficiency
  • Lead and develop a high-performing acquisition marketing team
  • Foster a performance-driven, data-led marketing culture
  • Collaborate with technology, analytics, and customer experience teams to enhance acquisition journeys


Your Background:


Essential:

  • Proven experience leading direct acquisition marketing within financial services or similarly regulated industries
  • Strong expertise in digital media, above-the-line campaigns, and integrated marketing planning
  • Demonstrated success managing agency partners and delivering measurable acquisition outcomes
  • Experience operating within complex, matrixed organisations with multiple senior stakeholders
  • Strong commercial acumen with a clear performance and results orientation
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing marketing teams
  • Strong operational discipline and attention to detail


Desirable:

  • Experience supporting partner-led promotional campaigns
  • Exposure to payments or consumer finance products
