Our client is looking for an Actuarial Specialist to join their team. The ideal consultant will demonstrate strong exam progression, thrive in a detail-oriented environment, and be available to join on a 12-month contract, while being open and willing to engage in a discussion regarding a potential permanent opportunity if offered.
Consultants with actuarial experience across any insurance lines, including life or short-term, will be considered.
Key Areas of Work:
- Reserving & Capital Perform monthly reserving calculations, including IBNR and OSCR analytics
- Assist with Economic Capital reporting Conduct Actual vs. Expected analysis to monitor portfolio performance
- IFRS 17 Reporting
- Prepare quarterly IFRS 17 workings and results
- Perform PAA eligibility and onerous testing
- Process Improvement & Data Analysis
- Support automation of IFRS 17 and reserving processes
- Develop and refine actuarial models and workflows
- Analyse data to identify trends, anomalies, and data quality issues
- Resolve data errors and implement controls
- Governance Maintain documentation for models, processes, and methodologies
- Contribute to ad hoc analyses as required
Required Skills and Experience:
- BSc or BComm in Actuarial Science (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in an actuarial environment
- Advanced Excel skills
- Exposure to VBA, SQL, Python, or R
- IFRS 17 (advantageous)
- Power BI (advantageous)
- Guarantee or trade credit insurance knowledge (advantageous)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail and ability to investigate data anomalies
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team
