A leading global management consulting firm is looking to onboard a consultant on a fixed-term contract to strengthen its Public Sector – Energy practice in India. This role sits at the centre of the practice’s business development engine, supporting multiple partners and case teams on high-impact public sector pursuits.
The consultant will play a critical role in identifying, shaping and managing public sector opportunities, owning end-to-end RFP processes, enhancing proposal quality, and driving commercial rigour across bids. This is a high-visibility position based in Gurgaon, working closely with senior stakeholders across the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and track opportunities in the energy/public sector landscape through tender portals and other public sources
- Conduct go/no-go assessments based on strategic fit, scope and pre-qualification criteria
- Own and programme manage end-to-end RFP/RFI/RFQ/RFE processes, ensuring full compliance and timely submission
- Develop pre-bid queries in coordination with legal and finance teams to strengthen win probability and mitigate risks
- Lead preparation of proposal responses, including credentials, CVs, commercial documentation and compliance requirements
- Support pricing efforts within government procurement constraints, including competitive benchmarking and pricing analysis
- Identify and onboard partners/sub-contractors; support contract structuring (NDAs, COIs, purchase orders, etc.)
- Drive proposal excellence by standardising templates, strengthening pitch quality and ensuring high documentation standards
- Track competitive activity, government spending programmes and key prospect accounts to support long-term business development
Your Background
- 3–4 years of overall experience
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in public sector tendering/RFP management (mandatory)
- Experience owning end-to-end bid processes, including compliance, documentation, commercial coordination and submission
- Exposure to pricing analysis, competitive benchmarking and government procurement frameworks
- Consulting background preferred (Big 4 exposure is a plus)
- Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to work across multiple partners and case teams simultaneously
- B.Tech + MBA preferred
