Our client is looking for an Assistant Manager-level contractor to support the delivery of a First Line GRC Maturity Assessment in the Financial Services sector. The role will help evaluate the maturity and effectiveness of first line governance, risk, and control practices within a regulated banking environment, focusing on operational and enterprise risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the execution of a First Line GRC Maturity Assessment across business units
• Assist in assessing operational risk management practices, controls, and first line risk ownership
• Help evaluate alignment with the enterprise risk management framework
• Identify maturity gaps and contribute to improvement recommendations
• Prepare clear findings and support reporting for management and risk committees
• Engage with business, risk, and compliance stakeholders to validate information and findings
• Track progress and support project management activities to ensure timely delivery

Key Skills & Experience

• Operational risk management experience within Financial Services or banking
• Exposure to enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks
• Some project management experience, preferably in assessments or process improvement
• Understanding of banking and Financial Services risk environments
• Experience supporting maturity assessments or diagnostic reviews is an advantage
