Project Overview

Our client is looking for a Strategy Support Manager to help facilitate and support the Mergers & Acquisitions planning, research and reporting processes for the Africa Regions Centre. This role is individually accountable for achieving results through the efforts of others over periods of 3 months to a year.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the Head of M&A with research on various markets, industries and geographies
  • Provides project management and business analysis support, working closely with Finance, Corporate Finance and Strategy to drive M&A initiatives
  • Ensures the M&A portfolio complies with group timelines for planning cycles and executive reporting deliverables
  • Prepares ad hoc board, Exco or committee reports as required, under the guidance of the Head of M&A
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with senior management and key internal stakeholders
  • Coordinates and drives the investment due diligence process (with the Head of M&A and Corporate Finance), including data, financial, structural and strategic due diligence
  • Supports the development of investment cases, business cases and strategic recommendations
  • Tracks and reports on M&A pipeline activity, deal progress and key risks
  • Assists with post-investment review and performance tracking where required


Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • A graduate qualification in business, finance, technology or engineering
  • Actuary, CA or CFA qualification is a distinct advantage
  • Project management and/or business analyst experience is an advantage
  • 5–8 years’ experience in corporate strategy, corporate development or consulting, preferably within Africa regions
  • M&A experience is a distinct advantage
  • Exposure to executive-level reporting and decision-making processes
