Our client, a Global Payments Firm is currently carrying out a project for a leading bank in South Africa. To support with this, our client is looking to onboard a Marketing Specialist to join their team.
This individual would be required to effectively promote the card products to the Consumer segment to ensure optimized product uptake and engagement levels. In this role, the individual will not only support in driving business growth but also ensure that company is consistently top-of-mind and front-of-wallet to cardholders.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Maintain customer loyalty and drive their continuous engagement with the credit card business.
- Develop effective strategies, innovative and actionable card usage plans and initiatives/campaigns which align with management directions and are beneficial to credit card business growth.
- Analyze internal data and examine external lifestyle trends, spend behaviors and card usage habits to create a competitive edge for the initiatives/campaigns.
- Identify potential customer segments and analyze their needs to retain the profitable segments, stimulate users for the card utilization and increase the active ratio.
- Execute marketing initiatives/campaigns and coordinate with internal/external parties to ensure smooth implementation of strategic marketing initiatives/campaigns and product initiatives.
- Manage sales volume and the cost and achieve business targets within a reasonable budget.
- Monitor program progress, effectiveness and conduct post- initiatives/campaigns evaluation for future improvements.
- Evaluate existing customer lifecycle management practices, recommend areas for improvement and drive implementation of priority changes in collaboration with Product, Digital and Sales teams.
- Strategize appropriate go-to-market and launch plans for key products, in conjunction with Product.

- Financial Performance (card issuance growth, spend growth).
- Customer acquisition and engagement.

Knowledge and Experience:
- Degree holder in Marketing, Business Administration or related disciplines.
- At least 10 years’ experience in marketing or digital product management of retail banking or credit card products.
- Experience in managing partners relationship, external vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Experience owning/managing large program or projects.
- High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams.
- Experience in delivering finely tuned product marketing strategies.
- Exceptional verbal and written skills.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Based in Johannesburg
- 10 years of experience in marketing
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Experience developing and executing marketing campaigns to promote credit card products.
- Good team player and detail oriented.
This is a contractual role for a duration of 12 months. This role is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
