Project Overview

Our client, a global strategy consulting firm is supporting a leading consumer goods company in undertaking a strategic initiative to strengthen on-ground sales execution and improve field performance across key markets. The engagement is part of a broader effort to optimise market coverage, enhance frontline capabilities, and drive revenue growth.


The client is looking to onboard a Sales Consultant to play a critical role in this initiative. The consultant will help the client achieve operational excellence in sales execution, deliver actionable insights from field data, and strengthen the performance of RSMs and SMs across Maharashtra and select markets in West Bengal. Their work will directly impact the effectiveness of the sales organisation and the client’s market performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-ground sales reviews and field market assessments across Maharashtra and West Bengal.
  • Collaborate closely with RSMs and SMs to evaluate performance, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
  • Support capability-building initiatives, including training and mentoring frontline sales teams.
  • Analyse and interpret large datasets to derive actionable insights and support decision-making.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and Excel-based tools to monitor field performance.
  • Partner with client leadership to ensure alignment of sales execution strategies with overall business objectives.


Your Background:

  • Proven frontline sales experience in FMCG, ideally at RSM/SM/ASM level.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in consumer goods / FMCG sector.
  • Strong expertise in data analysis, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in field operations, market performance tracking, and sales training.
  • Educational background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline.


Other Info:

The role is based in Mumbai, with approximately 90% travel across Maharashtra and some travel to West Bengal. The engagement is full-time, with an initial duration of 3 months and the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.
