Project Overview

Our client, a global payments firm is seeking a Cards Product Manager with strong product, commercial and stakeholder management skills to support the development, scaling, and optimisation of credit and debit card portfolios.


This is a 12-month, on-site, full-time contract based in Hong Kong. The consultant will help drive product roadmap delivery, go-to-market initiatives, and portfolio performance (e.g., activation, spend, retention, profitability), while supporting partner bank relationships and identifying opportunities to expand value-added services.


What you will be doing

  • Define and execute a roadmap to scale credit and debit card products across multiple customer segments.
  • Identify portfolio growth opportunities (e.g., premium, exclusive, and digital-first offerings).
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to support differentiation and profitability.
  • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle for credit and debit cards, including pricing, rewards, and feature enhancements.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to shape card features, user experience, and value propositions.
  • Manage relationships with fulfilment vendors.
  • Work with Marketing on acquisition campaigns, retention programmes, and cross-sell strategies.
  • Develop and optimise targeted promotions using customer insights and digital channels; measure and improve campaign performance using data-driven insights.
  • Support account teams in growing Mastercard share with partner banks and managing day-to-day bank enquiries.
  • Identify and progress opportunities to apply value-added services (e.g., consulting, analytics, marketing, loyalty solutions) to drive product growth.
  • Explore innovative services (e.g., instalment programmes, lifestyle benefits, merchant offers).
  • Track and report key card portfolio KPIs (activation, spend, retention, profitability) and use analysis to improve product features and marketing ROI.


Your background

  • Seniority: 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or a related field
  • Essential experience and skills:
  • Product management experience in payments, card programmes, fintech product management, or card scheme operations
  • Proven track record launching and managing debit and/or credit card products for international banks (preferably in Hong Kong)
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement; able to run multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable working in an Agile environment and delivering outcomes within it
  • Language: Fluent in Cantonese & English
