Project Overview

Our client, RMA, is building a new Data and Insights capability within its Group Finance function and is seeking an experienced Data and Analytics Specialist to help establish this capability from the ground up. Reporting directly to the Head of Innovation and Integration and working closely with the CFO and senior finance stakeholders, this role will play a critical part in improving data quality, enabling advanced analytics, and driving data-led decision-making across the finance ecosystem.

The consultant will be responsible for improving data pipelines, supporting data governance initiatives, delivering analytical insights, and helping finance teams leverage data more effectively across reporting, actuarial, risk, compliance, audit, and strategic finance functions. The role will also contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to automate and optimise manual finance and actuarial processes.

This is an initial 6-month contract with strong potential to convert into a permanent leadership position as the capability matures. The successful consultant will be the first dedicated resource within this pillar, offering significant opportunity to shape the future direction of the function and build a team over time.

The role is based in Johannesburg on a hybrid working model, with an expectation of approximately 2–3 days per week in the office.
