Our client is seeking a highly experienced Head of Delivery to provide senior leadership across a complex portfolio of multi-country programmes. This is a senior management role requiring an experienced delivery leader who can oversee multiple programme teams and managers, strengthen operational execution and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across the organisation.

The successful candidate will operate at a level comparable to a Senior Manager or Director, with significant experience leading managers and overseeing multiple delivery lines rather than managing a single programme or technical team. The role requires someone who can combine strategic leadership with strong operational execution, people management, programme governance and stakeholder engagement.

Experience leading large, complex and multi-country programmes is critical. Exposure to donor-funded or development programmes would be highly relevant, but the priority is ultimately finding a proven senior leader with the capability, experience and operational depth to lead at this level.

Key Activities

• Provide senior leadership and oversight across multiple programmes, delivery teams and workstreams.
• Lead and manage programme managers and other senior team members, ensuring effective performance and accountability.
• Oversee the successful delivery of complex, multi-country programmes.
• Translate organisational strategy into clear operational priorities, delivery plans and measurable outcomes.
• Strengthen delivery processes, governance frameworks and operational ways of working.
• Ensure programmes are appropriately resourced and delivery risks, dependencies and challenges are proactively managed.
• Provide senior oversight of programme planning, implementation, performance and reporting.
• Work closely with programme leadership to resolve complex operational and delivery challenges.
• Ensure consistency and quality across multiple programme teams and delivery lines.
• Lead, coach and develop managers and build strong, high-performing teams.
• Drive collaboration across programme, technical, operational and corporate functions.
• Engage confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders across multiple countries.
• Provide strategic input to senior leadership on programme performance, organisational capacity and delivery priorities.
• Maintain oversight of programme budgets, resources and operational requirements.
• Ensure appropriate governance, accountability and risk management across the delivery portfolio.
• Support continuous improvement in programme delivery and organisational effectiveness.

Your Background

Essential

• Approximately 15+ years of relevant professional experience, with substantial experience in programme delivery, operations or organisational leadership.

• Demonstrated experience operating at Senior Manager, Head of Function or Director level.
• Proven experience leading managers and teams that themselves manage other teams or delivery functions.
• Experience overseeing multiple programmes, workstreams or delivery lines simultaneously.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, complex and multi-country programmes.
• Strong operational management and programme delivery capability.
• Experience managing people, resources, priorities, risks and delivery performance at organisational or portfolio level.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with the ability to drive execution.
• Excellent senior stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through complexity and manage competing organisational priorities.
