A Google Cloud consulting firm is seeking an experienced Apache Cassandra Engineer based in Indonesia to work on an enterprise data platform engagement. The consultant will work within a cloud-native delivery team, helping clients design, migrate, and optimise large-scale distributed data architectures using Apache Cassandra alongside Google Cloud Platform services. Given the regional focus, fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is essential to effectively engage with local client stakeholders and support in-market delivery.

The ideal talent is a technically strong, hands-on Cassandra specialist who is comfortable operating within a GCP context — whether integrating with managed services, advising on migration pathways, or optimising production clusters.

Key Activities

• Design and implement scalable Apache Cassandra data models and cluster architectures suited to high-availability, high-throughput enterprise workloads.
• Integrate Cassandra environments with Google Cloud Platform services — including Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub — to support unified data pipelines and analytics use cases.
• Advise clients on migration strategies from legacy or on-premises databases into Cassandra-based or GCP-native architectures (including Google Bigtable where applicable).
• Optimise Cassandra cluster performance — covering data modelling, compaction strategy, read/write tuning, and operational reliability.
• Engage directly with client stakeholders in Bahasa Indonesia, translating technical concepts clearly and building trusted relationships at both technical and business levels.
• Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform for cluster provisioning and configuration management within GCP environments.

Your Background

Essential

• Proven hands-on experience with Apache Cassandra, including data modelling, cluster management, and performance tuning in production environments.
• Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, with the ability to integrate Cassandra into a GCP-native data stack.
• Native or business-fluent proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia — essential for client-facing engagement and stakeholder communication.
• Based in Indonesia with full availability to work with regional clients.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex distributed data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable

• Familiarity with Google Bigtable as a managed alternative or complement to Cassandra workloads.
• Experience with GCP data services including BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub in the context of pipeline design.
• Background in real-time or streaming data architectures (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub, Structured Streaming).
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for cloud provisioning.
• Google Cloud Certification (Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect).
• Experience in financial services, e-commerce, or other high-throughput data environments common in the Indonesian market.
