Project Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex Due Diligence and Post-Merger Integration programmes within a dynamic financial services environment.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded project manager who has successfully delivered acquisition, integration and transformation initiatives and can proactively manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders and dependencies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in translating due diligence findings into executable integration plans and ensuring successful Day 1 and post-acquisition delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Due Diligence Programme Delivery

  • Manage end-to-end multi-workstream due diligence plans, milestones, deliverables and critical paths.
  • Coordinate internal teams, external advisors and specialist workstreams.
  • Drive delivery against transaction timelines and governance requirements.

Integration Planning & Delivery

  • Translate due diligence findings into Day 1, 100-Day and longer-term integration plans.
  • Build and manage integrated programme plans covering all business functions.
  • Coordinate integration activities across Technology, Finance, HR, Operations, Legal, Regulatory and Actuarial workstreams.

Governance & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage RAID logs, actions, decisions and programme dependencies.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and decision-support materials.
  • Facilitate governance forums and drive accountability across stakeholders.

Value & Readiness Management

  • Coordinate Day 1 readiness activities.
  • Track integration costs, synergies and benefits.
  • Manage TSA-related activities and integration execution risks.

Required Experience

  • 7-10+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Proven Financial Services experience.
  • Previous acquisition, merger or post-merger integration experience.
  • Exposure to due diligence processes and workstreams.
  • Experience developing Day 1, 100-Day and long-term integration plans.
  • Understanding of integration costs, synergies, benefits tracking and TSA management.

Essential Competencies

  • Critical-path and milestone management.
  • Dependency mapping across multiple workstreams.
  • RAID management.
  • Strong PMO governance and reporting capabilities.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management.
  • Commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Be an Integration or Transformation Project Manager.
  • Understand M&A and Due Diligence environments, although not necessarily be an M&A specialist.
  • Proactively drive delivery and remove obstacles.
  • Be comfortable operating in highly complex, fast-moving environments.

This Role Is Not Suited To

  • Generic IT Project Managers.
  • Agile or software implementation specialists.
  • PMO Coordinators or Administrators.
  • Project Managers whose primary capability is schedule administration rather than programme leadership.
