Project Overview

We are working with a top-tier global consulting firm to support an upcoming strategy and technology assessment project for a B2B processing client based in Singapore and Johor.

This engagement is focused on Advanced Planning System (APS) vendor benchmarking, solution fit assessment, total cost of ownership analysis, and high-level IT architecture design. The client is looking to understand which APS vendor is best suited to its business and technical requirements, what the expected total cost of ownership would be, and how the selected solution could scale across the enterprise. The expected uplift sizing will be covered by the consulting team, with the APS expert supporting the vendor, technology, and implementation assessment.

To support this effort, the client is seeking an APS Implementation Lead / Supply Chain Technology Specialist with hands-on APS delivery experience, ideally within B2B processing industries such as chemicals, food and beverage, or adjacent manufacturing sectors.

The role is expected to start in the week of 25 May 2026 and run for 6 weeks. The expert should ideally be available full-time for the duration of the project, though part-time arrangements may be discussed. The talent can be based in Singapore or similar time-zone markets such as Southeast Asia, India, Hong Kong, or Australia/New Zealand. The contractor must be fluent in English and may be required to support work at client locations in Singapore and Johor.

Success will be assessed by the expert’s ability to provide credible hands-on APS implementation insight, benchmark leading vendors, support a robust vendor scoring and TCO analysis, and advise on high-level architecture and enterprise scalability considerations.

What you will be doing

  • Support APS vendor benchmarking across leading platforms such as OMP, o9 Solutions, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, Anaplan, and SAP-related planning solutions.
  • Assess vendor capabilities against the client’s business, planning, operational, and technical requirements.
  • Develop or support a structured vendor scoring framework to compare APS solution fit.
  • Provide hands-on implementation insight from prior APS delivery experience, including diagnostics, design, deployment, and adoption considerations.
  • Support total cost of ownership analysis across licensing, implementation, integration, support, and ongoing operating costs.
  • Advise on high-level IT architecture design for APS implementation.
  • Assess enterprise scalability, integration complexity, and future-state technology implications.
  • Work closely with the consulting team to translate technical findings into clear recommendations.
  • Share practical benchmarks, lessons learned, risks, and success factors from prior APS implementations.
  • Support client discussions, working sessions, and internal case team alignment as required.
  • Provide input on vendor shortlisting, implementation feasibility, and roadmap considerations.
  • Help identify key risks and trade-offs across different APS vendor options.

Your background

  • 5–8 years’ experience in supply chain technology, ideally in a vendor, consulting, systems integration, or vendor-adjacent implementation role.
  • Hands-on delivery experience on at least one full-cycle APS project, from diagnostics through deployment.
  • Practical experience with one or more APS platforms such as OMP, o9 Solutions, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, Anaplan, or SAP planning solutions.
  • Experience assessing and benchmarking APS vendor capabilities against business and technical requirements.
  • Strong understanding of planning processes, supply chain technology architecture, and APS implementation considerations.
  • Experience in B2B processing industries is preferred, particularly chemicals, food and beverage, manufacturing, or adjacent sectors.
  • Prior experience working with APS vendors, SAP consulting teams, SAP partner networks, or Tier 2 system integrators such as Capgemini, Infosys, or Wipro is desirable.
  • Ability to provide informed views on typical APS TCO ranges across licensing, implementation, and ongoing support.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to consulting teams and senior stakeholders.
