This is a 3 to 6 months consulting engagement working with a global consulting firm and their Japanese client.
Project context
A decision has been at the Japanese HQ level to exit their Thai operations. They now require assistance with the following:
- Thai government policies for redundancy (and practical experience).
- Design redundancy package (>400 employees).
- Work with HQ on communications plan.
- Support negotiations with local suppliers.
You will be working as a member of the consulting firm team as the sole client facing member full time on site. You will be supported by a MD based in Singapore (part time) who will fly in and out as needed. You'll be based at the client site and you'll work closely with the Japanese client HQ project team.
Profile:
- Experienced individual able to deal with c-suite executives of the Thai subsidiary
- Proven experience executing complex and large scale redundancies / downsising in Thailand
- Deep understanding of Thai regulations, compliance requirements and labour laws in regard to redundancies
- Experience developing redundancy packages at scale (400+ employees across various levels)
- Strong change managment and communication skills
- Strong programme management skills
- Thai language skills
