A high-performing payments business is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join its team for a 6-month engagement. Based in Sydney with 3 days in-office per week, the consultant will support a range of commercial, pricing, and operational initiatives across internal merchant groups.

The role requires an exceptional Excel modeller with strong analytical capability and commercial acumen. A background in consulting or experience working in fast-paced, project-driven environments is highly desirable. The successful consultant will work closely with Commercial and Operations leadership to develop pricing tools, automate manual processes, and support sales and business case development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced Excel-based pricing models and financial tools.
• Automate manual tasks and support the development of simplified operational processes.
• Assist with commercial business case development and financial modelling for new opportunities.
• Support the sales team with accurate quotes, custom modelling, and pricing strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement through process reviews and reporting enhancements.
• Develop and implement reconciliation reports and assist with settlement validation activities.
• Contribute to improvements in fraud and chargeback processes.
• Collaborate within cross-functional squads to support merchant operations and strategic initiatives.

 Your Background

• Background in consulting or previous experience in project-based commercial roles.
• Working knowledge of chargebacks, fraud, and scheme settlement processes.
