Our client, a Global Payments Firm is currently carrying out a project to support with this, they are looking to onboard a Merchant Acceptance Specialist with strong experience in payments and banking to support company’s market-wide merchant onboarding initiative in Angola. The specialist will be responsible for enabling merchants to accept payments by activating and optimizing POS devices across key banking partners.to join their team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with 3 major banks to identify and target top merchants for company’s enablement.
• Onboard merchants by ensuring their POS terminals are configured and activated to accept the scheme.
• Facilitate the execution of the banks’ onboarding requirements with key merchants (including signing of agreements, document collection etc.)
• Conduct field visits and remote support to troubleshoot and resolve device issues.
• Track and report progress on merchant activation and POS enablement.
• Support the banks with rollout of any training or marketing materials at merchant locations.
• Liaise with internal teams and vendors to ensure smooth deployment and operational efficiency.
• Provide feedback and insights to improve merchant acceptance strategies.

Required Experience & Skills: 

• Proven experience in payments, banking, or merchant services.
• Familiarity with business / customer onboarding, merchant acceptance ecosystems and / or POS systems. - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Ability to negotiate commercial contracts and agreements
• Fluency in English and Portugue
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in banking or payments industry in Angola
• Ability to understand the different complex technical payment topics
• Prior experience working in Angola or similar markets.
• Understanding of payment scheme operations and merchant onboarding processes.
• Strong analytical skills

Mandatory Skills:

• Must be on client site/country
• Payments, project implementation and management
• Deep knowledge of payments and/or banking
• Based in Angola - 3+ yrs experience in card payments and acceptance business
• English and Portuguese are mandatory 

This is a 6 months contractual role based in Luanda, Angola.
