Our client, a leading financial services organisation in Australia, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the central hub of a critical regulatory remediation program. This replacement role requires immediate availability. The successful candidate will drive stakeholder coordination across Sydney and Melbourne offices, manage program delivery, and ensure compliance outcomes. This is a full-time engagement initially contracted for 8 weeks with strong potential for extension. The ideal talent will be an experienced senior consultant with robust project management credentials and senior stakeholder communication expertise.
Key Activities
- Program Leadership: Serve as the central coordination hub for the regulatory remediation program, ensuring seamless delivery across multiple workstreams
- Stakeholder Management: Engage and coordinate with senior stakeholders across Sydney and Melbourne offices, facilitating alignment and decision-making
- Project Delivery: Drive project milestones, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables meet regulatory requirements and quality standards
- Senior Communications: Prepare and deliver executive-level reporting, status updates, and strategic recommendations to project partners and leadership
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, escalate, and resolve program risks and issues, maintaining clear documentation and mitigation strategies
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with legal, compliance, operations, and business teams to ensure integrated program delivery
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all program activities align with regulatory expectations and remediation objectives
Your Background
Essential:
- 5-10+ years of consulting or project management experience, preferably at Engagement Manager to Principal level
- Proven track record in large-scale program management and delivery
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and senior executive communication skills
- Experience managing complex, multi-location projects with distributed teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work on-site in Sydney/Melbourne as required
- Immediate availability
Desirable:
- Background in financial services, particularly risk management, wealth management, or superannuation
- Experience with regulatory remediation programs or compliance initiatives
- Knowledge of Australian financial services regulatory environment (ASIC, APRA)
- Management consulting background with Big 4 or tier-1 firms
- Experience in crisis management or time-sensitive program delivery
