Our client, a global consulting firm, is looking for a consultant to support them on a Capital Program Management project for a major real-estate company in India. The key focus of the engagement is to improve construction productivity and slab cycle time for large-scale residential tower projects.

They are looking for someone with extensive experience in managing large capital expenditure projects in the real estate industry, preferably residential construction projects.

Below summarises the responsibilities of the consultant:

• Serve as the Project Manager, overseeing construction activities and critical Project Management Office (PMO) tasks
• Work as part of the consulting team to help the client ensure timely delivery of projects
• Identify opportunities to implement structural changes in construction practices, technologies, and ways of working
• Identify and report potential risks and delays, initiating mitigation strategies
• Resolve key challenges on-site in collaboration with site teams to ensure smooth operations
• Ensure that project milestones are met according to the established schedule
• Coordinate across various functions, including the Project Team, Project Management Consultant (PMC), and Design Team
• Establish a governance framework, including conducting reviews, monitoring key metrics, and preparing comprehensive reports

An ideal candidate would have:

• 5 to 10 years of experience in managing large capital expenditure projects in the real estate industry, with a preference for residential projects
• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering; a postgraduate degree from a top-tier university is preferred
• Proven experience in project management, particularly in the real estate sector
• Strong understanding of construction practices, technologies, and project management methodologies
• Excellent risk management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and teams
• Strong communication and reporting skills

This is a contractual opportunity and will be on an initial 12-month contract. The consultant will be required to be based in Mumbai for the entire duration of the project.
