A leading not-for-profit organisation is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to accelerate delivery of key infrastructure initiatives. The role will focus on decommissioning server and cloud-based VDI and VMware resources, implementing automation through PowerShell scripting, and managing Group Policy.
In addition to delivering these critical outcomes, the consultant will play an important role in upskilling and capability development within the internal IT team, ensuring sustainable knowledge transfer and long-term operational readiness.
This is a 6-month, full-time contract, with a hybrid working arrangement at the client's Chatswood office in Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the decommissioning of server and cloud-based VDI and VMware resources in line with organisational objectives.
- Develop and implement automation solutions using PowerShell to streamline infrastructure processes.
- Manage and maintain Group Policy to ensure security, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of infrastructure changes.
- Provide hands-on support, mentoring, and capability uplift to internal IT team members.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing expertise and best practices in infrastructure management.
Your Background
Essential:
- Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
- Strong technical expertise in server decommissioning, VMware environments, and cloud-based VDI.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Experience in Group Policy administration.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to engage and transfer knowledge effectively.
