Our client, a mid-sized private equity fund in India, is looking to onboard an ESG Consultant to strengthen its sustainability and compliance initiatives. The role will directly support the fund’s ESG strategy and reporting requirements, particularly in collaboration with DFIs (Development Finance Institutions) and LPs.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a consultant to shape ESG practices, frameworks, and reporting for one of India’s active PE funds. The consultant will work closely with both internal teams and portfolio companies, ensuring that ESG standards are embedded into the investment and monitoring processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead ESG-related projects, including framework development, reporting, and diligence support.
- Manage data collection and tracking of ESG metrics across portfolio companies (including field visits).
- Prepare LP reporting and represent the fund at DFI-related ESG forums.
- Support sustainability initiatives, including compliance with evolving ESG regulations and best practices.
- Coordinate with portfolio companies, fund leadership, and external stakeholders for seamless execution.
Your Background:
- 4–5 years of experience in ESG, corporate sustainability, ratings, risk & compliance, or related fields.
- Prior experience with leading institutions such as CRISIL (Ratings), ICICI (Risk & Compliance), Morgan Stanley (ESG), or impact funds like Aavishkaar, True North, Northern Arc, Lok Capital.
- Strong expertise in ESG reporting, frameworks, and stakeholder engagement.
- Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) preferred; undergraduate degree in commerce or engineering.
