Remediation & Migration Analysis:

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis into customer, transaction, and product data to support migration readiness and identify remediation needs
  • Design and maintain migration tracking tools, exception reports, and risk flags
  • Collaborate with product and operations teams to resolve data discrepancies or transformation logic

Data Governance & Quality:

  • Validate source-to-target mapping across legacy and target systems
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with governance standards
  • Partner with Data Management to align on definitions, lineage, and metadata

Data Mapping & Migration File Preparation:

  • Lead mapping activities between legacy and target systems
  • Build and validate migration files or equivalent customer transition data
  • Work with development and testing teams to ensure logic accuracy and QA

Automation & Data Engineering:

  • Automate pipelines and workflows using Python and SQL
  • Build modular scripts and parameterised frameworks for repeatable processing and auditing

Dashboards & Reporting:

  • Design scalable reporting solutions to monitor progress and surface risks

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Translate complex technical outputs into clear, actionable business insights
  • Work cross-functionally across product, tech, risk, ops, and compliance teams
  • Document and communicate assumptions, logic, and findings to diverse audiences

Key Technical Requirements:

  • Python: Advanced scripting for automation, ETL, remediation, and transformation
  • SQL (Teradata, Oracle): Expert-level skills – including joins, CTEs, window functions, optimisation
  • Data Visualisation: Proficient in Power BI, Tableau, or Streamlit
  • Excel/Google Sheets: Advanced use of formulas, pivots, and lookups for reporting
  • Version Control: Experience with Git for collaborative development
  • Cloud/Data Tools: Exposure to AWS SageMaker (preferred, not mandatory)
  • Jupyter Notebooks: Comfortable using notebooks for analysis and storytelling

Experience & Background Required:

  • 2–4 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Analytics Specialist in financial services
  • Experience supporting data migrations, transitions, or remediation projects
  • Exposure to structured, high-pressure environments with multiple stakeholders
  • Familiarity with regulated industries (banking, insurance, telco, etc.)
  • Soft Skills & Behavioural Traits:
  • Structured Thinker – Able to break down complex problems into logical steps
  • Strong Communicator – Clearly presents data stories to technical and business audiences
  • Highly Organised – Manages competing priorities and strict deadlines with ease
  • Stakeholder-Savvy – Builds trusted relationships across multiple teams
  • Proactive Problem Solver – Takes initiative and drives progress independently
  • Team-Oriented – Collaborative and knowledge-sharing by nature
  • Adaptable – Thrives in changing, fast-paced environments

Role 1: Data Analyst – Customer Data Transformation for Migration

This role supports the Customer Data Prep & Transformation stream, focused on reshaping and enriching customer data to enable seamless migration and ensure downstream continuity across onboarding and configuration systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transform and enrich customer and merchant data using various internal and external sources
  • Translate old data structures and business rules (e.g. merchant hierarchies) into the new system model
  • Ensure data flows correctly into all downstream systems
  • Flag and categorise data issues for easy remediation by others
  • Maintain refreshed datasets as source data improves

This role is suited to an analyst who thrives in ambiguity, understands end-to-end data flows, and enjoys working across evolving system landscapes.

Role 2: Data Analyst – Strategic Merchant Transitions

This analyst will focus on the bank’s most complex and high-value merchant customers, ensuring their transition to the new system preserves or enhances key customer experiences like statements, reporting, and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse complex enterprise and sales group customer configurations
  • Map data to customer experiences (e.g. reconciliation, billing)
  • Translate and redesign data structures for future-state systems
  • Identify translation gaps and recommend remediation
  • Champion customer-centric data designs for strategic clients

This is a commercially impactful role, directly influencing the experience and satisfaction of key customers during a major system change.

Role 3: Data Analyst – Remediation & Governance

Supporting the Remediation stream, this role focuses on resolving non-standard data issues and exceptions, helping to ensure every customer transitions cleanly and compliantly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse data anomalies and cluster common issue types
  • Uncover root causes and recurring patterns
  • Collaborate with SMEs to design and validate remediation logic
  • Create artefacts such as remediation proposals and prioritisation papers
  • Support development of future-proof logic to minimise reoccurrence

This role requires an analytical thinker who can turn raw data insights into purposeful rules and governance frameworks.
