Our client, a renowned global consulting firm, is supporting a leading mining company in South Africa as part of a business-critical digital transformation initiative. The focal point of this project is the migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, aiming to standardize processes, enhance operational efficiency, and streamline change management across global operations.
As the SAP Migration Expert, you will guide the client organization through the end-to-end migration process. Leveraging your expertise, you will develop the migration roadmap, drive global process standardization, and oversee change management initiatives to ensure smooth and successful adoption of SAP S/4HANA. Your leadership will play a key role in realizing tangible business value from this technology upgrade.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration roadmap for the client and its global operations
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams on best practices for SAP migration, data conversion, and business alignment
- Establish and implement global standardization processes for critical business functions within the SAP landscape
- Drive change management and stakeholder engagement initiatives to facilitate user adoption and minimize disruption
- Advise client leadership on key risks, mitigation strategies, and decision-making throughout the migration lifecycle
- Coordinate closely with the client and consulting firm stakeholders to ensure project alignment and timely delivery
Your Background
- 15+ years of relevant experience, with a strong track record leading large-scale SAP ECC to S/4HANA migrations
- Deep expertise in SAP system architecture, migration strategies, and process standardization in complex organizations
- Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams through technology-driven business transformations
- Strong background in change management, stakeholder engagement, and communication in multinational settings
- Industry knowledge of mining or similar asset-intensive sectors is highly desirable
This is a remote, full-time consulting engagement expected to run for 6–8 weeks, with immediate start. There is potential for extension based on project needs and consultant performance.
