Our client, a globally recognized management consulting firm, is leading a landmark port infrastructure and logistics transformation project in Liberia for a prominent resources-sector client.
As part of this initiative, they are seeking a senior consultant with extensive experience in Material Handling Equipment Construction to oversee the development of critical port cargo handling systems.
In this role, you will bring your technical and project execution expertise to ensure the safe, timely, and high-quality construction and integration of large-scale material handling equipment. Your work will directly contribute to the operational readiness of the port’s heavy-lift infrastructure and future throughput performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the construction and installation of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems for port material handling equipment (e.g., ship loaders, stacker-reclaimers, conveyors)
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEM suppliers, and engineering teams to align on technical and construction specifications
- Review and validate engineering drawings, QA/QC procedures, and construction milestones
- Resolve on-site technical or execution challenges, ensuring safety and quality standards are met
- Support pre-commissioning and systems integration with other port infrastructure elements
Your Background
- At least 5 to 15 years of experience in heavy industrial, port infrastructure, or mining projects, with a focus on material handling systems
- Deep technical expertise in construction, installation, and integration of bulk material handling equipment
- Degree in mechanical, structural, or electrical engineering
- Familiarity with international quality and HSE standards
- Excellent coordination and project management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across contractors, consultants, and client teams
Other Information
- The role requires full-time on-site presence in Liberia, with a work cycle of six weeks on-site followed by two weeks in India.
- Round-trip travel to India will be provided.
- All accommodation and logistics in Liberia will be managed by the client.
- The consultant will work as part of an established team from the global consulting firm.
- The contract duration is 6-9 months
