Our client is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented junior Financial Reporting Accountant to join their finance team on a 6-month project. The ideal candidate will be a recently qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with strong experience in preparing and collating financial statements under IFRS. This role will focus on delivering accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls.

The client prefers an on-site working arrangement at their head office in Houghton, Johannesburg but are open to a hybrid model of 3 days in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and compile sets of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and other relevant regulatory standards.
• Review and collate financial data from multiple entities or business units for consolidated reporting.
• Ensure all financial statements are accurate, complete, and in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with audit processes, including responding to audit queries and preparing supporting schedules.

Requirements:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA)
• 1-2 years post article experience in financial reporting
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS (preferably IFRS17)
• Experience using Workiva would be advantageous, but not a requirement.
