Project Overview

The Programme Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of the African Natural Capital Alliance (ANCA) initiatives and projects within the Nature Centre of Expertise (CoE). As the operational backbone for ANCA, you will manage day-to-day activities, develop effective processes, and collaborate across teams while gaining unique visibility into high-level conservation finance initiatives throughout Africa.

By effectively managing operations and stakeholder coordination, you will directly contribute to ANCA's mission of mobilising financial resources for nature conservation across the continent, while building valuable skills and networks in the rapidly evolving sustainable finance sector.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operations Management

• Drive the day-to-day operational activities of ANCA, ensuring efficient and effective execution of initiatives

• Develop, implement, and optimize operational processes and workflows to enhance productivity

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in operations and impact measurement

• Support the ANCA Secretariat in managing working groups and other operational structures


2. Project Coordination & Implementation

• Support the onboarding processes for new ANCA members & projects, including documentation, compliance, and systems integration

• Coordinate with implementing partners, ensuring they receive timely support throughout project lifecycles

• Maintain comprehensive project tracking tools to monitor milestones, deliverables, and deadlines

• Support risk assessments and management throughout project implementation

• Prepare regular project status reports for internal teams and external stakeholders


3. Data & Knowledge Management

• Develop and maintain databases and information systems to support ANCA operations

• Ensure quality and accuracy of operational data across ANCA initiatives

• Create reporting and monitoring tools to track progress and identify areas for improvement

• Manage ANCA’s physical and digital records, ensuring proper organization and accessibility

• Support knowledge sharing and organizational learning through effective information management


4. Stakeholder Engagement & Communications

• Coordinate with different teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration

• Support the implementation of ANCA's communication and engagement strategy

• Manage stakeholder communications, including preparation of updates, newsletters, and reports

• Monitor and document ANCA mentions in external media and maintain social media presence

• Serve as a primary point of contact for operational inquiries from partners and stakeholders


5. Event & Logistics Coordination

• Plan and coordinate meetings, workshops, conferences, and other ANCA events

• Manage all logistical arrangements including venue, accommodations, transportation, and catering

• Coordinate travel arrangements for Nature CoE staff and external stakeholders

• Prepare event budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility

• Provide on-site coordination during events to ensure smooth execution


Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor’s degree completed with 3-5 years of work experience, ideally in a fast-paced project management and/or stakeholder management role.


Essential Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

• At least 1-2 years administration work experience; a focus on nature/climate project administration will be an added advantage

• International organisation work experience is a plus

• Proven, strong organisational skills, including the ability to self-start, prioritise and proactively respond to evolving/ unfolding demands

• Experience in managing processes and analysing information

• Demonstrably strong customer focus

• Good communication skills (written and spoken)

• First-rate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and possibly CRM systems.

• Excellent skills in written and spoken English. Demonstrate good attention to detail with grammar, spelling and writing style that will appeal to key stakeholders

• Team player: ability to work effectively with colleagues across the organisation

• Demonstrated familiarity with social media platforms


Desirable

• Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment

• Previous experience of working in sustainability projects

• Languages: French, local African languages
