Project Overview

Our client, a leading global player in the payments and financial services sector, is seeking a Commercial Cards Product Lead to guide the strategic direction and lifecycle management of its commercial card offerings. The seniority for this role is at the Director level, with a 12-month engagement based in Malaysia.


This opportunity has been created to strengthen and evolve the client’s commercial card proposition. The incoming talent will be instrumental in shaping product direction, enhancing competitiveness, and ensuring alignment with evolving market demands. The success of this initiative will be measured through product performance metrics including market adoption, customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and compliance with relevant regulations.


What you will be doing:

  • Define the strategic vision and roadmap for the bank’s commercial card product line, aligning closely with business goals.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, from ideation and market research through to launch and post-launch optimization.
  • Translate market and customer insights into product features and specifications.
  • Maintain and evolve a product roadmap, ensuring strategic priorities are met over time.
  • Manage and forecast product budgets, including pricing strategies and cost control.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders—senior leadership, sales, compliance, and more—as well as external partners.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance data, making evidence-based decisions to refine and improve offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.
  • Provide ongoing reporting to senior leadership on market trends, product health, and key strategic decisions.


Your background

  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in product strategy and lifecycle management, ideally within the commercial cards
  • Deep expertise in commercial card products, market dynamics, and regulatory environments is a must.
  • Demonstrated success in launching and scaling card products or comparable financial services solutions.
  • Proficiency in using product management tools and platforms to manage complex initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mindset and the ability to solve problems with agility.
  • Skilled in engaging and influencing senior stakeholders through effective communication and relationship-building.
