Project Overview

As the new Head of Group Reporting, you’ll be at the forefront of strategic financial leadership, guiding a highly capable team and working across Life, Non-Life, and Group entities.


This is more than a reporting role, it's a leadership opportunity where you’ll influence transformation, drive efficiency, and bring financial strategy to life at Group level.


This is an initial 6-month contract, with the opportunity to convert to permanent or extend based on mutual fit and business needs.


What You’ll Own & Lead

  • Lead the Group Reporting Engine: Own management and statutory reporting across the Group. You’ll coordinate inputs, provide technical oversight, and ensure accuracy, compliance, and clarity.
  • Drive Strategic Insight: Shape and assess business performance through financial analytics, portfolio reviews, and predictive models. Your insights will fuel smarter decisions at Exco and Board level.
  • Champion Financial Integrity: Safeguard the general ledger, own the financial control environment, and ensure seamless delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Be the External Voice: Oversee preparation of the Group’s Annual Financial Statements and act as the key liaison for external audit, regulatory bodies, and the Audit Committee.
  • Lead the Transformation Agenda: Guide business units in achieving Transformation goals, manage the annual verification process, and keep the Group on track toward its transformation targets.
  • Empower Through Leadership: Build, mentor, and elevate a high-performing team that covers reporting, forecasting, budgeting, technical accounting, and transformation.
  • Shape the Future of Planning: Lead budgeting, planning and forecasting processes across the Group, driving efficiency, alignment, and a forward-looking finance function.
  • Be the Technical Backbone: Translate IFRS and statutory updates into actionable initiatives and embed best practices across the business.
  • Balance Sheet Stewardship: Own Group-wide balance sheet management, aligning strategy with financial strength and sustainable growth.


What You Bring to the Table

  • CA(SA) designation with a solid 10+ years of experience, including 8+ years of senior leadership.
  • Deep expertise in the insurance industry, you understand the regulatory landscape and what it takes to operate within it.
  • A track record of leading dynamic finance teams, delivering strategic insights, and embedding strong financial controls.
  • Fluency in systems like Great Plains, Hyperion (HFM & Planning), and reporting toolkits.
  • Mastery of IFRS, technical accounting, financial performance metrics, and balance sheet optimization.
  • The rare combo of commercial acumen, analytical sharpness, and strategic influence.
