Project Overview

Our client, a Big 4 Bank, is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join the Credit Cards squad, responsible for the end-to-end management and growth of its credit card portfolio. This role will support and lead the development of strategic initiatives aimed at improving product performance, enhancing the customer experience, and delivering cross-functional business value.

 

The successful consultant will bring deep experience in product management—specifically in delivering new financial services products (such as credit or debit cards) to market. Strong commercial acumen, an understanding of P&L drivers, and solid knowledge of the competitive landscape and customer experience best practices are essential. This 12-month role, based in Sydney (hybrid working, 50% in-office), offers a high-impact opportunity to work within a fast-paced, Agile environment at one of Australia’s largest financial institutions.

 

Key Activities

 

  • Product Management: Manage the full lifecycle of credit card products, including enhancements and go-to-market execution.
  • Strategic Roadmap & Delivery: Shape and deliver the squad’s product roadmap, aligning cross-squad dependencies and priorities.
  • Market & Commercial Analysis: Leverage market insights, customer feedback, and product performance to inform strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and proactively identify and manage risks through regular controls and escalation.
  • Customer Experience Leadership: Lead initiatives to optimise customer journeys and benefits, using data and best practice insight.
  • Business Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams including finance, compliance, and operations to align on product performance and business objectives.
  • Tech Partnership: Collaborate closely with technology teams to support product delivery—without needing deep technical involvement.

 

Your Background

  

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager in financial services, with a focus on credit or debit products.
  • Demonstrated success in bringing new products to market in a commercial banking or fintech environment.
  • Strong understanding of P&L drivers, commercial levers, and market dynamics.
  • Ability to define and drive customer-centric product strategies that enhance experience and deliver measurable business value.
  • Experience working in Agile teams, managing multiple priorities, and delivering at pace.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to lead across business and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset, data fluency, and ability to use insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Clear risk mindset, with experience in managing compliance and regulatory obligations.
