Our client RMA is looking for a technical accountant who has IFRS 17 implementation experience to assist them until roughly April 2026. This is thus expected to be a 10 to 12 month contract. An independent able to work full-time on a hybrid basis (60% in office) in Gauteng is sought.
Key responsibilities / deliverables:
- Provide technical accounting support and drive implementation of technical standard (IFRS 17 for Life Insurance)
- Design and develop IFRS 17 finance reporting
- Enable and identify new controls, reconciliations and other validations that need to be embedded into new IFRS 17 systems and processes
- Assist in the productio of annual financial statements (AFS), including to comply with IFRS 17 disclosure requirements.
Qualifications and experience required:
- A CA is preferred, but not essential
- IFRS 17 experience, in life insurance, is essential
- IFRS implementation experience
- Experience producing AFS
- Consolidation experience
- Comprehensive understanding of general ledger and financial accounting functions
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
