Our client, a leading bank, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong financial background to support its cashflow management and data reconciliation processes. This role involves conducting a comprehensive end-to-end data lineage review, identifying weaknesses in reconciliation processes, and implementing solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
The ideal talent will work closely with stakeholders across operations and technology, ensuring data discrepancies are proactively managed and resolved. This is a hands-on role requiring deep analytical expertise, problem-solving skills, and experience working with financial systems and ERP software in a banking or financial services environment.
Key Activities
- Provide daily support in managing data failures, implementing fixes, and stabilising reconciliation processes before discrepancies escalate.
- Conduct a full end-to-end data lineage review for reconciliations, identifying weak points and recommending improvements.
- Maintain and manage an issues tracker, ensuring all problems are well-defined and assigned clear actions.
- Work with stakeholders to define, document, and implement solutions for emerging reconciliation and data issues.
- Produce detailed process flows and data lineage documentation, pinpointing breakpoints and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with teams to design and implement process and data enhancements, including requirements gathering and process redesign.
- Coordinate stakeholders to validate and test recommended process and data enhancements.
- Deliver actionable documentation with recommendations for reconciliation and process improvements.
Your Background
Essential:
- 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, with a focus on financial data reconciliation and cashflow management.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies accurately.
- Proven ability to manage reconciliation failures, track issues, and implement solutions effectively.
- Experience with financial systems, including mainframe or ERP accounting software.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills to identify root causes of financial data issues and implement fixes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise across teams and departments.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Desirable:
- Prior experience in banking, financial services, or payments processing.
- Familiarity with settlement and reconciliation processes.
- Additional certifications in financial management, data analysis, or process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
