Our client, a global consulting firm, is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Card Portfolio Specialist. This role offers an exciting opportunity to optimize performance drivers and revenues at the portfolio level while working extensively with internal and external stakeholders. The position is based in Muscat, Oman, with a 12-month contract.
This role requires deep expertise in card portfolio management within the GCC banking sector and a proven track record of developing and implementing growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage portfolio growth and customer engagement throughout the lifecycle of a card customer.
- Ensure balanced growth by addressing credit, operations, compliance, and service delivery risks.
- Design and develop best-in-class portfolio programs tailored to local needs and scalable globally.
- Deliver regulatory changes seamlessly and cost-effectively while maintaining an excellent client experience.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the credit card portfolio in line with business targets.
- Manage customer engagement and balance build initiatives, including end-to-end campaign management.
- Design and optimize credit card installment plans and sales strategies to enhance revenues.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Analytics teams on customer segmentation to drive focused promotions.
- Implement robust customer retention strategies for profitable customers.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
- Manage the financial performance of the credit card portfolio, monitor performance vs. targets, and mitigate headwinds.
- Regularly assess portfolio performance, usage patterns, profitability, and customer feedback.
- Work with digital teams to optimize customer journeys for enhanced customer experiences.
- Identify and resolve customer pain points to improve engagement and loyalty.
- Engage with stakeholders for effective governance and robust controls around portfolio programs.
- Evolve KPIs and performance dashboards aligned with strategic objectives to support senior management decision-making.
- Address and resolve customer issues or complaints related to credit card business.
- Collaborate with Risk Management, Operations, Marketing, Retail, Analytics, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and external partners.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Increase in card activation rates.
- Growth in card spend (domestic and international).
- Effectiveness of promotional campaigns in increasing card utilization.
- Development of new beneficial partnerships.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in card product/portfolio management.
- Experience in the GCC banking sector is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
- Fluent in English (Arabic preferred).
- Strong client interaction skills with a focus on building relationships.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of project management tools is a plus.
