Our client, a leading consulting firm, is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Technical Expert/Project Manager for Card Payments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the technical implementation of payments products and support the go-to-market strategy for the organization’s card payments business. The position is based in Mauritius, with a 12-month contract.
This role requires extensive expertise in card payments, project management, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team, processors, and other relevant stakeholders to implement Principal licensing, Commercial debit cards, Commercial credit cards, MPGS, and XB Send.
- Project manage all activities related to going live with products, including:
- Develop a comprehensive list of activities and dependencies.
- Track activities and escalate any roadblocks.
- Coordinate within Mastercard teams, the client, and third parties to support the completion of critical tasks.
- Support the client in setting up various processes and systems to run the card business efficiently.
- Train and upskill the client on relevant processes for running a card business (including payments, reconciliation, settlement, billing, and chargebacks).
- Oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring on-time, within-budget, and within-scope delivery.
- Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor project progress.
- Prepare reports for upper management on project status.
- Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for flawless execution of multiple projects.
- Define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques.
- Manage relationships with the client and relevant stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize potential risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third-party vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Meet with clients to take detailed briefs and clarify specific project requirements.
- Track project performance to analyze successful completion of short- and long-term goals.
- Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Number of products launched successfully.
- Successful launch of the Commercial Card product.
- Successful implementation of the Mastercard Payment Gateway (MPGS).
Qualifications and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in the card payments business and project implementation.
- Proven working experience in project management, with a focus on payment systems.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE II certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of acquiring and issuing payment systems.
- Commercial card issuing knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
- Based in Mauritius.
