Project Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Marketing Project Manager to lead a team and oversee end-to-end execution of change-driven, multi-channel customer campaign communications, embedded within a big 4 bank. This project will involve providing marketing expertise for discretionary change programs across lines of business (LOBs), Distribution, CTO, and Digital teams. The Senior Manager will manage two junior resources, ensuring projects are delivered successfully while maintaining alignment with customer needs and business priorities.


The ideal talent will have significant experience in BTL (Below the Line) customer campaign communications, leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering impactful marketing strategies in complex, fast-paced environments. Based in Sydney, this hybrid role requires a strong commercial mindset, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.


Key Activities:


  • Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor two junior Marketing Project Managers, ensuring smooth execution of campaign deliverables and alignment with project goals.
  • Structured Delivery: Start each project with a discovery phase followed by a clear brief and measures of success that are documented and agreed upon.
  • Campaign Development & Execution: Create and implement multi-channel marketing strategies and communication plans, ensuring effective delivery across eDM, DM, SMS, and other BTL channels.
  • Customer Experience Design: Use data-driven insights and customer feedback, and develop, map, and execute customer journeys that align with change objectives, including digital and service touch points, to drive the right creative solutions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, media agencies, and cross-functional teams, to influence marketing strategies and ensure alignment.
  • Commercial & Customer Impact Reporting: Define, track, and report on campaign success metrics, including customer impact and ROI.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure risks and compliance training are managed effectively, using frameworks such as the "Should We Test" methodology.
  • Post Implementation Reviews (PIR): Conduct PIRs to assess campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.


Your Background:


  • Marketing Leadership Experience: 7+ years in marketing and/or project management roles, particularly in BTL customer campaign execution.
  • Core Capabilities: Ability to execute for customers, lead performance, and manage risks while accelerating digital and ensuring data excellence.
  • Creative & Customer-Centric Approach: Proven track record of developing and executing innovative marketing campaigns, with a focus on optimising customer experience.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience engaging legal, media agencies, and cross-functional teams.
  • Process-Driven & Results-Oriented: Highly organised, detail-focused, and accountable for tracking campaign performance and delivering results.
