Our client, a global consulting firm is looking for a Finance Data Model SME, preferably with banking experience, to support a confidential live project for a global financial services client.
The role will be based onsite in Hong Kong, with the client’s preference being full-time onsite working from the client site. The project duration is 3-6 months with possibility of extension.
The project has already kicked off and requires immediate support to help define and assess finance data requirements, metrics, data definitions and the enterprise-wide finance data model.
The consultant will support the team in developing the outputs needed to guide Finance Data Platform decisions, including prioritisation, reusability, scalability and governance considerations.
What you will be doing
- Developing an inventory of Finance and Business metrics, including associated data definitions.
- Defining user requirements for the Finance Data Platform.
- Supporting the design of an enterprise-wide Finance Data Model, including scope and prioritisation matrix.
- Preparing inputs for a Finance Data Platform decision paper and business case.
- Identifying and aligning core metrics across Finance and the Business.
- Anchoring Finance data requirements to priority business decisions and value drivers.
- Scoping critical Finance and non-Finance data through a business lens rather than by systems.
- Applying a structured, evidence-based assessment of Finance Data Platform reusability.
- Quantifying reusable capabilities, gaps and risks to extend the Finance Data Platform across the enterprise.
- Providing recommendations, including implications for scale and governance.
Your background
- Finance Data Model SME with strong knowledge of finance data model design.
- Experience in financial services or banking is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Finance datasets, metrics and data definitions.
- Experience defining Finance Data Platform requirements.
- Ability to assess data platform reusability, gaps, risks and scalability.
- Experience supporting decision papers, business cases or senior decision-making materials.
- Understanding of enterprise-wide data models, prioritisation and governance considerations.
- SME-level knowledge is more important than a specific number of years of experience.
- Client-facing experience is not required, although the individual should have the right stature to work effectively in a project environment.
